Polychromy is a full color catalogue documenting Anya Klepikov’s solo site-specific installation at Ortega y Gasset Projects January 10 - February 27, 2026.
This installation flows out of Anya’s practice of story-telling with space as a scenic designer in the context of live performance. As a scenic and costume designer Anya has employed materiality and color in support of story for a long time. Her recent original work including FLAMINGO MURMURATION and An Instrument for Introspection: The Nun’s Bed, invites viewers into dramatic environments and offers opportunities to interact with a space, playing with the distinction between audience and performer. Her art practice revolves around the re-beautification of the familiar: she frequently works with non-shopped materials.
Anya Klepikov’s scenic and costume designs for theater, opera and dance have been seen in New York City, Off-Broadway and regionally at venues including Yale Repertory Theater, Baltimore Center Stage, Glimmerglass Festival, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, Florida Grand Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Fort Worth Opera, Saratoga Opera, Yale Opera, Princeton Opera, Weston Playhouse, Syracuse Stage, Triad Stage, Gloucester Stage, Pearl Theatre Company, Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth, New York Public Library, the I-Park Foundation, Baryshnikov Arts Center, and Miami City Ballet. She teaches at Williams College and freelances as a designer out of Western Massachusetts.www.anyaproductiondesign.com
Polychromy is co-published by Ortega y Gasset Projects and Space Sisters Press with a curatorial essay by Leeza Meksin and an interview with Edie Emanuela Meidav and Anya Klepikov.
